FAQ

  • Are your products all made in New Zealand?
Yes!! We make everything by hand in very small batches in our apothecary based in Piha, a beautiful coastal village 40 minutes west of Auckland, New Zealands largest city.
  • Do you use synthetic ingredients?
No. One of our core philosophies is to keep our products as close to nature as we can without compromising shelf life. We personally don't like synthetic scents either and we consider it an exciting challenge to make our products smell beautiful using natural ingredients.
  • Why can't I find your products in my local town?
Great question! Short answer, we're working on it! Currently we are a very small team and our web sales and local shops are keeping us busy. Don't hesitate to drop us a line if you want to recommend somewhere that would be a great outlet.
  • Sometimes my balms feel grainy, why is this?"
It's the shea butter content which really has a wild mind of its own. Because we use unrefined and 100% natural ingredients, we sometimes get this grainy texture. It usually means your balm has been exposed to some temperature extremes. The grains dissolve when you rub the balm between your hands but if it bothers you, pop it in the oven for about 20 minutes on a very low heat. Dont let it go over 80 degrees. Then leave it to cool and you are away again.
  • Do you test on animals?
Absolutely not! Except....our animal balm! This has been tested on Megans dog, chickens, neighbours horses, cats and cows! And they love it!
